BOOKIES & PKR SUPPORTERS BADLY BURNT IN BATANG AI.

Barisan Nasional’s big win in the Batang Ai by-election burned huge holes in the pockets of bookies in the state.

Many of the bookies had accepted bets on the prediction of a narrow margin of victory of between 300 and 500 votes.

Some even predicted a narrow win in favour of the opposition.

When the margin turned out to be 1,854 votes for the Barisan, the bookies had to pay huge amounts, sources said.

A businessman here said he heard that the biggest bet placed was RM50,000 by someone in Kuching, who predicted that the Barisan would win by more than 1,000 votes.

Barisan’s Malcolm Mussen Lamoh garnered 3,907 votes against PKR’s Jawah’s 2,053.

The bets were taken by bookies operating from urban centres.

Their modus operandi is similar to the 4D syndicates who take bets online and via SMS and telephone calls. Payments are usually made via telegraphic transfers.

There were also those who placed small sums for the fun of it, including many workers in the plantations in Batang Ai.

Very few people had predicted that the Barisan would beat the PKR by such a big margin. In the past two state elections, the Barisan won by less than 900 votes in Batang Ai.

UB ELI WONG FULL STATEMENT

These past two months have been more than an traumatic ordeal, one which I would never wish for any citizen to have to suffer through.

I have been stripped bare publicly – both figuratively and literally – by force and against my will. My personal life has been violated and assaulted by none other than criminals. Even up to this evening, I continue to receive threats from unknown persons.

This is not a scandal, as some have suggested, but a clear criminal act. This is no less a form of criminal intimidation, a form of political violence, and one which, if I chose to retreat into silence, would in turn affect women, especially women politicians.

Gutter politics is not and should not be part of our political culture. For those who depend on exploiting and supporting such criminal acts, is an indication of the kind of politicians and persons they are.

I stand for a person’s right to privacy. I stand for ‘New Politics’ – a politics that encourages intellectual discourses, reasoned polemics and ideological debates, not one which resorts to gutter-level politicking to smear, to slander and to violate one’s privacy in order to score political points.

This is the hardest decision that I have to make in my life and it is with the greatest humility that I accept the Selangor state’s offer to remain in office.

I wish to thank Menteri Besar and the Selangor Exco, my staff, my fellow ADUNs, fellow politicians from Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional, PKR leaders, the Women’s wing of PKR and the grassroots for their support and guidance. I wish to thank my lawyer Derek Fernandez for his legal counsel and unwavering belief in me.

Respectfully, I wish to thank HRH the Sultan of Selangor for his guidance.

I am humbled by the encouragement and support from the media, my family and friends, the NGOs, the tens of thousands of people who signed petitions on my behalf and who wrote to me, and especially my constituents who stood by me in these trying times.

I also wish to thank the Police for their professionalism in addressing the issue at hand and I look forward to them apprehending and charging the criminals soonest.

My only wish is to serve my constituents and the state to the best of my abilities and with the help and cooperation of the people, to make this state and this country a better place for all. The struggle continues, and our work has only just begun.

ELIZABETH WONG
ADUN BUKIT LANJAN
EXCO for Tourism, Consumer Affairs and the Environment

Thanks You Mr. Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim

Today is 16 April of 2009, a very meaningful date to all problematic youth like yours truly. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has become Prime Minister for seventh month, after taking over the government on 16 September 2008.

Though rain has been wetting Kuching since early this morning, my spirit to celebrate the return of YB Elizabeth Wong to the mainstream politic was not dampened at all. The fire inside me is burning bigger that now its official Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is endorsing our lifestyle.

I could not wait for Saturday Night, looking for beautiful girl out there experimenting what I like best. Of course, it would be done within the confine of my own house, and whether to remain clothe or naked is none of your business. Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said okay, so what?

Deep down there, I am sure every yet to be married politician, those who has entered their 60’s included, would rejoice at the Selangor State Government decision. Its okay to indulge in unhealthy pre-marital sex as long as you are not a Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders.

If you are a BN leader, sorry. We will have to condemn you. Its not about double standard or being personal, in BN you are not supposed to be engaging in immoral activities, married or not.

In Pakatan Rakyat, everything is okay. Anwar says okay. Azizah says yes. Nik Aziz says mind your own business.

On behalf of all Mat Ago-go and Minah Ago-Go of the 60’s, Mat Disko and Minah Disko of 70’s, Mat Ration and Minah Ration of the 1980’s, Bohjan and Bohsia of the 1990’s, Mat rempit and Minah Rempit of 21st century, I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Datuk Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia for endorsing our lifestyle.

The decision to retain Elizabeth is a big yes to our lifestyle. We are the post independent generation. It is also a big yes to the much hyped inter-racial city life out of wedlock uhu-uhu. Sepet the movie is nothing compare to your landmark decision.

You are giving us a great new hope that we too could become great leaders of this country and play bigger role in the society. You make us feel proud and optimist of becoming State minister while living in sin. Thank you.

The next thing that I really appreciate if you can make your stand clear is on the same sex issue. People have been accusing you on this subject, being a liberal minded Muslims backed by the USA. I am unsure what is your stand on this matter. You know, the uhu-uhu between man and man, uhu-uhu between woman and woman.

You are likely to get all the votes from the gay community and their supporters, people know what will you not do to be popular. Everything is halal to you now as long it make you look good.Who cares what the conservative Malay think, the non conservative are with you plus majority of the non Malays.

It is a big step for you to acknowledge that PKR leaders intellectual discourse sometime end up very privately and transform into another type of course…inter racial of course. I hope you will go one step further by calling them to submit their amateur video to the Internet, for us to share in true spirit of liberalism. It is an accepted norm in developed countries nowadays, your supporters and Elizabeth supporters I am sure is having nothing against this.

I hope the authority will arrest the bastard who snapped Elizabeth picture while she was sleeping. Can’t you do it more gentlemanly and seek permission when she was awake? Being lovers, I am sure one are sharing the pain and pleasure. I do. Most of my former lovers will agree.

Furthermore nowadays we can always print our own intimate picture at home without having to go to photo studio. The video can also be edited using user friendly software such as movie-maker for our own consumption, why are you so bird brained and send it to UMNO owned papers? Luckily my dear Elizabeth is getting the backing from Anwar and Azizah, while our free sex lifestyle is endorsed.

I am sure at the moment Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek, who won the Malaysia Chinese Association (MCA) deputy presidency recently is so damn tempted to join PKR now. You will not only get the full backing of Anwar and Azizah, but Nik Aziz as well. Why worry?

In the Pakatan Rakyat government, we do not care about your unholy lifestyle, as long you can deliver. Morality and integrity is out of question here.In BN obviously there will never be a place for you in the cabinet anymore, jump over, probably you will become DPM.

We can always says that you are a victim of privacy encroachment. What you do with your friends is none of others business. Business and pleasure do not mix. The act of distributing your dvd too is an act of crime. Why the BN people is making a fuss about it when your own family says okay, voters says okay and majority MCA delegates says okay.

You should go and speak to Anwar, Azizah and Nik Aziz. Do not go and see Karpal Singh, he is too principled, almost like BN. He will tell you to repent. I am sure Anwar will have ways how best to accomodate you. The people around him says okay whenever Anwar says okay. They are not BN where you are subjected to rigid written and unseen rules.

Did you see in Penang? The DCM is having to vacate his seat over some rumours. They are dua kali lima with BN one. No worry. Their former ADUN in Perak who become independent recently too receive sedekah maaa, in the form of amoi China some more.

Last but not least, is there anybody out there who can share Elizabeth hp no with me. I wish to personally send her congratulatory SMS, and hopefully it would evolve from there…

I promised you, its not my style to take one picture while she is sleeping. Let us do it Cher and Sonny Bono way, after all Sonny is a politician too.

Eli Wong get DAP Sarawak support

Bukit Lanjan assemblywoman, Elizabeth Wong’s agreement to say on as Selangor state executive councilor and assemblywoman for the state constituency was welcomed by supporters who sympathise with her plights.

Wong offered to vacate both post on Feb 17 after semi nude pictures of her appeared on the net. Following the appearance of the pictures on the internet, Wong tendered her resignation from the post and went on leave. She accepted the decision to be back on Wednesday.

Violet Yong, State Assemblywoman for Pending welcome the idea of Wong returning back to politics. Stating that Wong is a hard working woman who could serve her constituency well, she could continue to do well.

As a woman, Yong said Wong make the correct decision as she had done nothing wrong. She lamented that all these were through the act of political rivals wanting to pull Wong down.

“I am sure she will be able to regain her confidence and stand firmly against such dirty tactics. However, it is a lesson to us all as politician as politics is being played at the dirtiest at the moment,” she added.

Yong said the public expected a lot from politician these days and they should as they were their representatives.

State Assemblyman for Batu Lintang, Voon Lee Shan said Wong’s was a victim of circumstances, part of the cloak and dagger politics in Malaysia. He said the BN had been try8ing to topple the opposition illegally and illegally since March last year after the massive win by PR government.

“What she did was nothing immoral. The whole thing was done out of her knowledge by people who conspire to disgrace her in the eyes of the public,” he said.

He said it was all bad politics with ill intention towards Elizabeth. “I think she should get on with her life and put the bad phase of life behind her,” he added.

Voon also hit at the police for failing to crack a simple case as failing to get the culprit behind the picture incident for a statement.

“It’s a disgrace considering the fact that the police have the power to get the suspect under the law,” he said.
